The journey began with a belief
My first memory of working with ceramics on a real level was at 8 years old. My art teacher, Mrs. Manny, saw my potential and love of ceramics, choosing to give me more responsibilities in our classroom studio, like helping load the kiln. It was the first time I felt like someone believed in me and understood my message. Throughout my life, I have taken the negative things that have happened and have thrown myself into art to make sense of my own thoughts and feelings. Often times our thoughts take us to some pretty unique places, and that's what we love to showcase. What makes Screechtures Designs special is the choice to take the simple things in life and turn them into the big things that we didn't think we needed to celebrate.
Bringing humor and connection
I hope that when people see my ceramics, they feel seen—that someone gets their point of view, however alternative or different it may be. I hope that it brings humor to the lives of others and causes people to not take life so seriously. Each piece is designed to spark joy and foster a sense of belonging among those who embrace the wonderfully weird, just like us.
